The Umbrella Perspective is used to illustrate and also has factors within each level of the umbrella, “enabling”, “limiting”, “motivating”, and “inhibiting” .  The organizational infrastructure refers to the groups of organizations involved in the production and distribution of the technology and how it operates.

Enabling factors: those that make the application possible

Limiting Factors:  the opposite of enabling factors, they create barriers to the adoption of technology.

Motivating factors: factors that provide a reason for the adoption of technology.

Inhibiting factors: the opposite of motivating ones, proving a disincentive for adoption or use of communication technology.
